Lovino's house (open)

Post by Lovino Vargas on Tue Jan 10, 2012 2:01 am

Lovino lay down on his newly remodeled bed, eager to take a mid-day nap on it after an afternoon spent working on it. He felt proud of what he’d accomplished since he’d come here, doing much more than he could ever have been expected to do prior to coming here. Of course, here certain skills were necessary to learn if he was going to make it one his own; skills such as fishing or building things or trapping game. His social skills still didn’t amount to much, and there were only a select few people he really considered himself close with, but this didn’t matter to the Italian. He was fine with having just those few relationships.

The small garden he’d started was coming along well, the plants doing just as well as he thought they would when he found them given the location of his home. Sadly he hadn’t been able to find any more plants other than the herbs and some berries – berries that the brunette still was unsure on being able to make so much as sprout - but the garden helped settle Lovino’s want to grow something in this new world.

Even in this solid-walled wooden house – with no windows as of yet, being unsure still of how he’d keep the rain out - Lovino could still smell the of sea nearby as the air poured through any small cracks between the logs. The briny scent provided an extra amount of comfort to the Italian, even if the part of the seaside (and part of the plains) he called his was small compared to his neighbor's portion. Aside from having plenty of fish, having the ocean be so close by reminded him of his old home in Naples. He wondered what this new world looked like on a map, or if something even resembling Italy still existed. It would be fun to find out someday, he mused.

The Italian gave a contented hum as he curled up on the bed, closing his eyes and pulling up the warm wool blanket he’d received from France over his body. There was always the possibility of someone coming over today, but Lovino wasn’t really expecting anyone to aside from perhaps Madeline or Gilbert. Thus, he’d get what sleep he could and deal with whoever came as they did so.

Alfred felt somewhat content now that he and France had somewhat made up. Granted, it would prove to be very awkward around her for some time, but at least they weren't on the point of arguing. Besides, he decided to focus his energy on something else to brighten his mood.

He desperately needed to find a way to make a burger.

One would think that growing up with so much technology and the like would make the American miss his video game consoles, cell phone, car, etc. more than anything in this New World, but in actuality he really missed his favorite "food of heroes" as he liked to call it. And now that he had been given some meat from his Russian... ally? frenemy? ... he wanted to know how best to season it to make it taste somewhat close to a hamburger patty. He remembered something about rosemary being used to season steaks so, wouldn't the same apply for hamburger meat? He sure hoped so!

And this is what brought him here, in front of Lovino's newly built house which he took a moment to admire. Not bad. The Italian was actually pretty handy in his own right and Alfred couldn't wait to make friends with him! It was the Hero's duty to befriend all! (Maybe even that Russian creep but... the Hero can make SOME exceptions if needed...)

Alfred walked forward and smiled, going over to knock on his door with more force than he intended, given his immense strength. "Yo dude!! Hey are you in there!? It's me Alfred F. Jones: the Hero!!!" He hoped the Italian would let him have some rosemary. The plants were growing nearby his feet but he felt bad just taking it without having permission first... and either way he didn't quite know how to distinguish rosemary from the other herbs anyway.

Lovino was just about to fall asleep, thinking about both times ahead and his home in Italy when he heard the knock – or attempt at a break-in, he had a hard time deciding which it was – at his door and Alfred’s voice ringing through it as cheerful as ever. The Italian gave a small groan, rubbing the palm of his hand over his eyes. He then pushed himself up off the bed and onto his feet.

Whatever it was Alfred wanted to talk with him about, in Lovino's opinion the reasoning had better be good. He wasn’t really in the mood to talk to the blonde. Although, he also couldn’t simply ignore Alfred forever - or hold a grudge for as small a thing as going another person's house after his offer, considering half the reasoning for that very well could have been his own usual attitude - so he walked over to the door and opened it, giving Alfred an unimpressed look.

“What is it?” he asked.
